Well, the Eric Wedge era ended with a big loud thump, just like this entire season. I believe Eric Wedge will manage some other day for another team, but for his sake he needs to figure out what went wrong this season so he doesn't continue to make the same mistakes. Needless to say I will be curious to see how he does somewhere else. I am going to give you my take on Wedge later this week, and I want to thank the readers for following this season with me. Please keep checking the site because I promise I will continue to post things during the off season, more so than last season. However, this team being at 65-97, I am relieved the season is over with. Let's hope this team finds a way to get better while the players develop and find ways on how to become successful Major League players.

**Dustin Pedroia- Dustin started the bottom of the 1st inning with a lead off Home Run, his 14Th Home Run of the season, he drove in his 70Th run and finished the night 1-2 with 3 walks and 2 runs scored. Dustin is now hitting .295.

B & G's #160 10/2/09...Sowers Finishies His 2009 Season A Little Sour

B & G's #160 10/2/09

Cleveland Indians (65-94) Vs Boston Red Sox (92-67)
At Fenway Park in Cleveland, Ohio
Friday October 2Nd, 2009

Jeremy Sowers (6-10, 5.09) Vs Daisuke Matsuzaka (3-6, 6.08)
Final Score: Boston 6, Cleveland 2
W- Daisuke Matsuzaka (4-6)
L- Jeremy Sowers (6-11)

Baseballs:

**Jacoby Ellsbury- He was a pest on the base paths, he finished the night 1-3 with 2 walks, he stole his 69Th base of the season and ran home after Kelly Shoppach's bad throw at 3rd base. He scored 2 runs and is hitting .301.

**Daisuke Matsuzaka- I was screaming at my TV to wait a second more so you can make contact. He does that pose when he throws and everyone else in the AL this year has tattooed him, so naturally he controls us tonight. 6 innings, giving up 2 runs (2 earned), he walked 3, struck out 7 and now has a 5.76 ERA with his 4Th win.

**Victor Martinez- Victor brought back memories on how he can hit the ball anywhere he wants and it somehow finds a way to get through. 2-4 evening, he drove in his 104Th run of the season and is now hitting .303.

**Kevin Youkilis- Kevin went 1-3 with a walk, he hit a double and drove in 2 runs, giving him 94 RBIs and is hitting .305.

**Jason Bay- Jason went 2-4 and drove in his 117Th RBI of the season. Bay is hitting .268.

**Mike Lowell- Mike DH'd tonight and he went 1-3 with a walk and is hitting .290.

**Alex Gonzales- Was hit by a pitch twice.

**Billy Wagner- Came in, threw 2/3 of an innings, striking out both men he faced. He has a 1.72 ERA with his 6Th hold.

**Ramon Ramirez- Ramon threw a scoreless inning, he earned his 12Th hold of the year, walked 1, struck out 1 in the process and now has a 2.88 ERA.

**Daniel Bard- Daniel threw 1/3 of an inning of scoreless ball, he now has a 3.73 ERA.

**Takashi Saito- Finished off the game throwing a scoreless 9Th inning and now has a 2.43 ERA.

**Luis Valbuena- Luis went 3-4 and drove in his 30Th RBI of the season and is hitting .248.

**Jamey Carroll- Jamey went 2-4 with a walk and he is hitting .276.

**Travis Hafner- Hafner finished the night 1-3 with a walk and a double. He is hitting .272 on the year.

**Jess Todd- Todd threw 2 scoreless innings, he has a 8.02 ERA.

**Jose Veras- Jose threw 1/3 of an inning of scoreless ball, he now has a 5.19 ERA.

**Kerry Wood- Threw a scoreless 8Th inning, he did walk 2, strike out 1 and now has a 4.25 ERA.

Goofballs:

**Jeremy Sowers- He just showed me he isn't a starter this year, he can come in next season as a reliever. And there is nothing wrong with that, because we know he can throw 4 scoreless innings, yet he can't throw 5 scoreless innings. We know he can get the hitters out in their 1st and 2Nd at bats, but not in their 3rd at bats. So put the players in the best possible position to help us win. Having said that, he threw just 3 innings, giving up 4 runs (4 earned), he walked 2, struck out 1 and raised his ERA to 5.25 with 11 losses.

**Indians Defense- 3 errors cost them 2 unearned runs. Matt Laporta (4Th), Jhonny Peralta (19Th), and Kelly Shoppach (4Th) all contributed.

**Indians Offense- Again, they can't hit off of Daisuke Matsuzaka, there are problems. 2 runs, 8 hits, 4 walks, and 10 more strikeouts, leaving 10 men on base.

**Kevin Youkilis- Committed his 6Th error of the season.

13 straight losses on the road, I don't see how this team can win just 1 game the rest of the year, so this is very tough to watch for any Indians fan. Saturday night is another game, starts at 7:10 PM, airing on STO with Indians On deck at 6:30 PM. Aaron Laffey (7-8, 3.91) take his last start. He will be opposed by Josh Beckett (16-6, 3.78), so it won't be any easier. The game will air on WTAM 1100-AM, let's make Josh pay for that dominating Game 5 performance of the 2007 ALCS.
